Creating an Accessible Audio Library

Vani Audio Library

As part of our commitment to making educational resources more accessible, EconReads partnered with Prerna Delhi Trust to create an audio library designed for visually impaired students.

The idea is simple: volunteers can record educational and learning materials, while visually impaired students can access those recordings whenever they need them. This creates a shared resource that allows students to benefit from materials that may otherwise be difficult to access independently.

Rather than relying solely on printed resources, the audio library provides students with another way to engage with educational content at their own pace. Volunteers, meanwhile, can contribute by recording materials and helping expand the collection over time.

Through this initiative, we hope to build a growing repository of accessible audio resources that can be used by visually impaired students both inside and outside the classroom.

The project reflects one of EconReads’ broader goals: using simple, community-driven solutions to remove barriers to education.
